HISTORY

At the beginning of 2010, a group of highly respected Sexual Medicine Specialists from the Middle Eastern area decided to take action on the clear need and willingness to found a new professional society for sexual medicine in the Middle East region. As a result, they formed a founding committee and worked on setting up the new Middle East Society for Sexual Medicine (MESSM), which was established in August 2010. The first scientific activity of the newly established MESSM was the organization of the 1st Biennial Meeting of the Middle East Society for Sexual Medicine which took place in Dubai, UAE, from 3 to 5 March 2011.

AIMS

The MESSM is a nonprofit organization whose aims are to (1) encourage the highest standards of practice, education and research in the field of human sexuality; (2) to develop scientific methods for the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of conditions affecting human sexual function; and (3) to promote the publication of medical and scientific literature in the field of sexual function. The purposes for which the MESSM is organized are exclusively charitable and the MESSM shall not carry on any activities that are inconsistent with its charitable aims as its assets are irrevocably dedicated to charitable purposes.
